In June, a magnificent engagement event centered around Nature-based Solutions (NbS) was hosted by Future Towns. This event brought together esteemed academics and practitioners, all with a shared goal of exploring the vital role of NbS in promoting sustainability and resilience of coastal communities and environments. It was a delight to welcome the esteemed John Curtin, Executive Director of Operations at The Environment Agency to the hub, who delivered a captivating keynote speech on flood defences. The University boasts numerous academics who dedicate their time to researching NbS, and we must extend our heartfelt gratitude to the exceptional Dr Hachem Kassem for his invaluable contributions towards organizing this informative and co-creative workshop.
